Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sammer Sheikh ("we", "us", or "our")
handles information when you use the Live Lyric iOS app (the "App").
1. Data collection
Live Lyric does not collect, store on our servers, or share
personal data. There is no account, no analytics SDK, and no advertising
identifier.
2. What the app does on your device
- Microphone. The App uses the microphone to identify the
song playing nearby via Apple ShazamKit, and (on supported iOS versions) for
on-device speech recognition used by live captions and unsynced lyric
tracking. Microphone audio is processed on device for these features and is
not recorded to a file or uploaded to our servers.
- Lyrics lookup. When a song is identified, the App
requests lyrics from publicly available sources (LRCLib and Genius) using the
song title and artist. No user-identifiable information is sent with these
requests.
- Local cache and history. Lyrics are cached on your device
for about 30 days for faster reloads. Your recent song history (last 20
matches) is stored only on your device. Neither is backed up to our servers
or synced across devices by us.
3. Third-party services
- Apple ShazamKit for song identification (Apple framework).
- Apple Speech for on-device speech recognition where used.
- LRCLib public lyrics database for time-synced lyrics.
- Genius public website as a plain-text lyrics fallback.
Those services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We do
not sell personal information.
4. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect their personal information.
5. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected by
updating the date above.
